DELIVERY INFORMATION

Communication to patients

Patients are advised via SMS that medication has been dispatched from Pharmacy Direct.

Where medication has been dispatched to a Post Office, patients will receive a tracking number of their parcel which should be used when medication is collected.

Reach

Pharmacy Direct delivers nationwide and is in the unique position that due to our courier networks, medication is also delivered in rural areas.

Pharmacy Direct has selected a number of the biggest, most reliable courier delivery companies for the delivery of medication in order to optimize reach and delivery time-frames.

Delivery time -frames

Door to door delivery of medication takes place as follows:

Main Centre - within 24 hours to 48 hours
Outlying areas - within 24 hours to 48 hours
Far Outlying areas - within 48 hours to 72 hours
Remote areas - within 72 hours

Delivery to the Post Office takes place within 24 hours to 48 hours. Patients can obtain medication from over the counter.

Packing of medication

Parcels are packed with all information secured inside the first bag using a second bag, black in color, which ensures that content cannot be identified.
Fridge parcels are packed to remain cool outside the fridge for between 48 hours to 72 hours and our packing material has been approved for this usage. However, fridge parcels are clearly indicated and the cold chain is not interrupted on these parcels.
Communication material used - parcels are clearly marked to ensure correct handling and compliance to special requirements, confidentiality and priority.
